Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for Junior Hindi Translator (JHT), Junior Translation Officer (JTO), Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator (SHT), and Senior Translation Officer (STO) recruitment for 84 posts. The online application process has started from 23 April 2026 and will continue until 14 May 2026. Candidates can apply through the official SSC website for the Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026.

This recruitment includes multiple posts across various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations under the Government of India. The selection process includes a computer-based examination followed by descriptive paper and document verification.

The Staff Selection Commission has initiated the recruitment process for various translator posts including Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, and Senior Hindi Translator positions. The application process began on 23 April 2026 and candidates must complete their application by 14 May 2026. The fee payment deadline is 15 May 2026, and candidates can make corrections to their application form between 19 May and 20 May 2026.

The recruitment examination will be conducted in multiple stages, starting with a Computer-Based Examination scheduled between August and September 2026. Candidates qualifying in Paper-I will be called for Paper-II, which is descriptive in nature. Final selection will be based on performance in both stages followed by document verification.

The eligibility criteria vary depending on the post codes A to D. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a compulsory or elective subject. Alternatively, candidates with a Master’s degree in any subject with both Hindi and English as subjects are also eligible. Additionally, candidates must have either a recognized diploma or certificate in translation or relevant work experience in translation in government offices.

The pay scale for Junior level posts is Level-6 (Rs. 35400 to 112400), while Senior level posts are offered under Level-7 (Rs. 44900 to 142400). This recruitment offers an opportunity to work in various central government departments and organizations across India.
